The collection consists of seven volumes of Elliott's personal diaries, which were bound together, at his own expense, after their completion. These diaries cover the five-year period that Elliott spent serving overseas, primarily in England. The contents of the journals include handwritten entries, sketches and watercolours that were either executed in the pages of the diary or pasted in, and photographs, newspaper clippings, letters, playbills, menus and other paraphernalia that were also pasted into the diary. These serve to document both the development of the war and Elliott's personal experiences. The diaries are generally in chronological order although there are places, particularly in the last three volumes, where the diaries have been bound out of sequence.

The fonds also contains several folio sheets of photographs and clippings regarding Elliott's career.

Burnham's student days at McGill are documented by a scrapbook containing clippings and printed photographs on collegial sports activities, mainly rugby football, 1892-1897, some clippings of poetry associated with student life, 1894-1895, 1897 and printed photographs of William Dawson, Peter Redpath, the Redpath Library and the Applied Science Class of 1897. There is also correspondence and a speech arising from a class reunion in 1931.

The fonds consists of documents, photographs and audio media relevant to the professional history of Dr. Hans Möller. The scope predominately covers the period of 1980 to 1997 and includes Dr. Möller’s published works, personal and professional correspondence, research articles, and documents related to his professional activities and associations within and outside McGill University.

Interleaved in a copy of Florio and Bas Bleu are six letters from Hannah More, two from Martha More, and four from Sarah More, one giving an account of Garrick's death.

The fonds primarily reflects Pappius’s activities as a researcher at the Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital (MNI/H): both her experimental research as such and various support activities, including academic publication, coordination of research projects with colleagues, and acquiring funding. It also contains much information about her leadership of the Clinical Neurochemistry Laboratory. The fonds contains smaller amounts of documentation regarding her activities as a professor at McGill University, her administrative roles at the MNI/H, and her participation in professional organizations, which reflects the smaller place that those roles occupied in her professional life.

The period of time best documented in the fonds spans the early 1980s to Pappius’s retirement in 1995. Correspondence with colleagues, mostly though not exclusively work-related, contains relatively more material from Pappius’s early career; although, here too, most of the material dates from the 1980s and after.

The main document types in the fonds related to Pappius’s research activities are experiment worksheets and printed tabular research data. Many of the research-related files contain negatives of autoradiographies, with a smaller number of photographic prints. Correspondence can be found in many series besides series F (Correspondence), as much of Pappius’s work was collaborative in nature.

The fonds documents Dr. Hamish McIntosh's activities while studying medicine at McGill University from 1939 to 1943. The fonds contains his notes.

This fonds contains documents created by or created for members of the Hall family and their extended family, beginning with Sarah Barker and ending with Charlotte Anne Vennor Lindsay, her great-great-granddaughter. The documents in the fonds represent the personal relationships and activities of Hall family members, as well as some of their business dealings. They date from between 21 January 1719 and approximately 1912, with the majority of the documents representing the period between 1750 and 1890. The documents were created while members of the Hall family and their relations lived in Montreal, Quebec City, and in New England (including Philidelphia, Andover, and Boston). Other documents were created in parts of Ontario (including Kingston, Fort Erie, and York/Toronto) and Germany (Kirchbrak, Durlach).

The fonds is arranged into four series: Diaries, Correspondence, Financial and legal documents, and Other family papers. The Diaries series consists of bound diaries and loose diary entries created by Hall family members. The correspondence series consists primarily of personal correspondence between Hall family members, with some business correspondence and some letters and notes related to genealogy and a financial legacy. The Financial and legal documents series contains a variety of documents related to personal and household expenses, guardianship of minor children, land sale and management, and the execution of wills and distribution of estates. This series includes accounts, receipts and invoices, loans, power of attorney, land surveys, wills, inventories of estates, a marriage contract, and other documents. Finally, the Other family papers series contains documents that did not fit neatly with the other series. These are related to the Hall family's participation in military, religious, and masonic organizations - documented by certificates, official letters, and a religious manuscript - and also includes a recipe.

The Haemmerle family fonds reflects the life of Russian emigres in Canada and consists mainly of correspondence in Russian (1919-1960) to and from Alfred Haemmerle, his wife Amy Waht, and other family members, particularly their son Anatole. The fonds contain numerous photographs of family members and events (1904-1960), photo negatives, a small number of family documents from the 19th century, genealogical notes, newspaper clippings, postcards mainly from Japan, maps and correspondence from the 19th century in Russian dealing with Haemmerle family as well as the Larssen family in Denmark, who were Alfred's maternal relatives. There are also letters to Anatole from his aunts in England and Japan. Included are also lectures and writings by Alfred Haemmerle on cooperative banking and related subjects, financial notes, diaries, receipts, wills, deeds and newspaper clippings also in English. Aside from the photographs, the non textual records include an ink sketch, a pastel sketch Enid signed by A. Dickson Patterson, a sketch of St. Lawrence River signed by C.B.K., a small still life painting of pots, one leather pouch and one small box.

Fonds contains 198 drawings (1938-1940) documenting the early development of the Mont Tremblant ski area for Mr. Joseph Ryan in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec. A wide variety of buildings including the lodge, a church, staff house as well as a series of cabins, cottages and out buildings are documented through watercolour and original tracings which are standard sets of plans, sections, elevations and details. There are also various site development drawings showing the topography as well as the layout of buildings, the water, sewers, and electrical systems. Blueprints by G. Lorne Wiggs represent the electrical, plumbing and mechanical layouts for many of the buildings within the development. The fonds also contains other material related to Mont Tremblant including, specifications for the General Contract of a Development for Joseph B. Ryan, Esq. at Mont Tremblant, Quebec 1939, a record of drawings and distribution of prints, and one printed volume (John and Frankie O'Rear, "The Mont Tremblant Story Including Skiing the Mont Tremblant Way", A.S. Barnes and Company: New York, 1954).
