        Eweretta Jane Auldjo Prentice was born c. 1830 in Montreal, Quebec. She was a granddaughter of the Hon. John Richardson (c.1754-1831), Montreal's leading businessman and politician in his time. In 1856, she married Edward Alexander Prentice (1832–1886), an investment banker and financial agent. They had two daughters and a son. One of the daughters, Eweretta Lawrence Prentice (1859-1952), the stage name Miss Lawrence after the River St. Lawrence, was a famous actress, producer, and theatre manager in London, England.

        She died in October 1898, in London, England.
