History

Edward Russell Paterson, maternal uncle of William Bruce Ross, Douglas Allen Ross, Dorothy Jean Ross and Alison Elizabeth Ross, was born in Montreal June 11 1887. He took a B.A. in the Ordinary Course, Class II in 1909. After a period of service during World War I, Paterson returned to Montreal and became Secretary of the Boy Scouts Association of the Province of Quebec. He became a teacher in his sixties and until his retirement in 1968 gave courses at Sir George Williams University in Astronomy, Geology and the History of Science.
