Will send the balance of his manuscript within ten days. Gibson did not have time to give him much help. Volumes IV and V could be out before July. If Volumes VI and VII came out next year, it will be quite in time enough. Hopes he has good aneurysm pictures. The Thomas plates are in the article on Dilatation aneurysm. For the Endocarditis proof, he tried, in vain, to get some in the Richard Stern's book. Pick out x-ray illustrations from Baetjer.

Letter to Thomas McCrae from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Mentions Norman's arrival. As he cannot register, he cannot go into the Regular Army. Jones, in charge of the medical department will utilize him at once, and has the permission of Ottawa to send him to the camp at Salisbury, where they have an outbreak of cerebro-spinal fever. Osler spent three days at Bulford. He did not see Jack (McCrae), as he was billeted over in Devizes. Campbell is in good form. Mentions the rain, the mud, and the cases of meningitis. Explanations about the newspaper rumour sending him to the front with the McGill Unit. Mentions that they are having problems with the anti-vaccination people. Regarding the supposed atrocities in Belgium, he has been looking for first-hand evidence, but says that they do not exist in England. Thinks that they have been terribly exaggerated. Details about the American Hospital at Paignton. Mentions his interest in the frostbites. Suggested that the Nova Scotian graduate mentioned by McCrae apply directly to the Red Cross. Letter to Thomas McCrae from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. The Aneurysm section went off today, Gibson and he hope to send the balance in a week. McCrae can get out volume IV and V before July. Encouragement. Tells him to ask Welch for help. He sent the Endocarditis proof. High opinion of Maude Abbott's section. It will sell volume IV and the all System, and will be a sort of Welchean section for the next generation as the Stomach article is in Pepper. McCrae can add things to his paper. Cabot's and Price's section are very good. The proofs are remarkable.

Letter to Thomas McCrae from Grace Revere Osler, 7, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Extract of a letter. She had received a telegram from Osler at Queenstown saying that he had had a splendid voyage. Revere and she arrived at Liverpool from America. There is a note from Cushing's secretary saying that she guessed the year of the letter and suggest that the Osler crossed on different steamers.
