The request from their own part to ask 20% is reasonable, as he has had recent offers for a book on diagnosis at 25%. He has some other additional corrections for the new printing. It is splendid for McCrae's father to come to England, but he hopes he does not intend to go to France. Will ask Leask if he turns up. Mentions his cold. Has no news of Benbow, who had nephritis. He has good news of Jack, who would prefer to be in the fighting line. Civilities.

He can not get the volume out before next Spring. Mentions that they had an explanation of the Holmes affair. They were corresponding with W. Gordon Holmes, a North London aurist while they wanted to get Gordon Holmes, md.( Miss Nichols's mistake). Finally, Holmes's manuscript is about ready. Osler hopes that McCrae will have printed volume IV by this time. Civilities.

He is working on the visceral syphilis and will send it to him soon. The cerebral (syphilis) will be in the nervous system section. Struggling to put Lord's and Babcock's articles in a separate section with tabes and general paralysis. Hope that young Henry will give his cases of which there have been three or four at the hospital of fatal vomiting. Civilities.
