Bob Chapin has recovered and goes to Minehead. Adèle is depressed and Babs is with the Turners. Revere has been in Oxford and will soon return to Newcastle. Dr. Welch and Mr. Hale have been visiting with the Oslers. She writes of the Max-Mullers, Campbell and Ottilie, and Billy. Lady Osler hopes that Dr. Welch will help get more money from the Rockefellers for the Belgian refugees.

She writes of May Osborne, and Marjorie and Ottilie, who are hitting it off better.

She does not understand how Osler is not worn out, particularly as a result of the constant stream of visitors and advice seekers in their home. Dr. Spalding, a female doctor from Boston, came to visit. Lady Osler has written to Cushing asking him about the Harvard day at Oxford. She writes of the war and of the renovations on her home to repair the fire damage. She mentions Ottilie, Hilda Palmer, Jean, Bob, Marion and the Emmons. Archie Malloch cannot leave the country and will likely join the Canadian Army Medical Corps.
