Letter to John George Adami, January 6, 1919

Letter to John George Adami from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Sends his regrets to not being able to be at the meeting (Adami's address at the Royal Institute of Public Health in "The Policy of Ostrich"). He must attend to a quarterly Radcliffe Infirmary Court. Suggests three actions regarding the Venereal Diseases : 1. determine the incidence in the community by a special study 2. Education of the public on the importance of prophylaxis. 3. Arrange for the cheap and efficient method of distribution. States that this work could be done without in any way diminishing the intensity of the moral campaign. Will ask all the Editors of the London Dailies for a full report of the meeting.

Herringham should have a knighthood for his work done as Secretary General to the (International) Congress, but did not. Civilities
