Letter to John Rose Bradford from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Informs him of a meeting at the War Office of the general committee to settle upon a plan for the Medical and Surgical History of War. Robinson and Osler were nominated for a sub-committee to deal with the medical side, with power to arrange sub-committees. The Neurological Committee is organized and at work, both in London and in France. Encloses the suggested scheme, and hopes that Dawson and Bradford will give suggested names of men who could undertake the work. Details about it. They have thought of Hale White for the gunshot wounds of the chest. Will send the same letter to Dawson.

Letter to John P. Reynolds from William Osler, 13, Norham Gardens, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. He gives him advice for the Brigham Hospital. Describes the steps that they would have to follow to be a national hospital. Explains his views for the buildings, their motto should be "Brains not Bricks". Weighs the advantages and inconveniences of an affiliation with Harvard. Declines the offer to be an official advisor, considering the distance to be an irritant. Nevertheless, he offers his help by expressing his views privately or publicly.

Agrees with suggestion of an Election Committee. Asks him how can they get in touch with the Profession whose confidence should be sought. Asks him if there is not a Principality Branch of the British Medical Association. States that the Hospital must be made to feel that it is the Medical School for the last three years.

Says that they must get the profession of the principality at the back of the school. It may be done through the Public Health Institute. Has written to Ontario for the scheme which is successful there. His opinion is that there is no reason why a distinguished practitioner should not be on one of each of the medical election committees. Asks him when the branches of the British Medical Association meet. Suggestion for a medical education symposium.

Letter to John Lynn Thomas from William Osler, From the Regius Professor of Medicine, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England. Will be in Cardiff June 21 and 22. Thinks that it would be important to hold a gathering of the medical profession, to discuss on the Medical School problems. Asks him who is the chairman of the Cardiff Medical Society. Will go to Aberystwyth and Bangor the following week and would like to have someone who could organize meetings there also. Suggests he come and play the missionary. States the importance of getting the entire profession of the principality interested in the Medical School.

Glad to hear that the Medical Board is in favour of an outside representative of the profession. Asks him to look at the post-graduate scheme worked out in Germany during the last few years. Discussion about it. Asks if the hospital ever took up the maternity question. It will have to be done. P.S. They must get the rich and bright Welshmen of the profession interested.
