Thinks that Strathcona will give something. Asks him to send a descriptive booklet to John McFadden, and put his compliments inside. Suggests to look for the descendants of some of old worthies connected with the Medical Chirurgical or other societies. Wonders who are the heirs of Robert Barnes. Would suggest they fit up a Robert Barnes' room. Family vanity is a powerful lever which Mitchell has used with advantage in Philadelphia.

Explains that the Council of the Historical Section has discussed twice the question of organizing a Vesalius Celebration. The Brussels Celebration will be about December 13th. Suggests having theirs a week after and that the Society (R.S.M.) should get the cooperation of the Royal College of Physicians and of the Royal College of Surgeons. Asks him to talk with the President about it to have an exhibition of the works of Vesalius, a lecture on his life and work, and an exhibition of the portraits and drawings. It is suggested having Harvey Cushing give the lecture, and Spielmann to give the lecture on the portraits and drawings. Details about it. There is a 1478 Calcus at the Hodgkin sale, suggests asking the fellows to subscribe and send a bid.
