There is much more interaction between Oxford and the United States than people usually think. Mention of a gathering of 160 Rhodes Scholars where the majority was from the USA and that many Americans come to study or work at the Bodleian. He will write to Lord Curzon to let him know about Phipps's subscription which will go in the general fund, but ear-marked for Osler's new clinical laboratory.
