Sorry to trouble him with the Oxford Endowment subscription which had been definitely earmarked for the Medical Department. In a letter, the Secretary of the Oxford Endowment Fund pretends that there was no definite allocation. Unfortunately, he has not got Phipps's original letter. The situation is embarrassing, as they have built the new building and the laboratory in connection with Phipps's gift of L 1200.
