Biographical history
John Symonds was a medical student at University of Edinburgh, beginning in 1762. He studied under Dr. John Rutherford at Edinburgh (1695-1779).
Custodial history
Fonds bought by the Osler Library in 1958 with the help of the Wellcome Fund. Old accession numbers W 11735 and 274.
Scope and content
Fonds contains John Symonds' student notebook volume 3 of Dr. John Rutherford's clinical lectures for the year 1753 at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. It was transcribed by Symonds in 1762.
