The collection consists of 50 original illustrations created by Edward Lear (1812-1888) executed primarily in watercolour and pencil. These works are part of Lear's Fifty Original Drawings of Birds and a Few Indistinct Pencil Sketches, published between 1835 and 1836. The illustrations and sketches feature depictions of a variety of bird species, including raptors, parrots, cranes, and waterfowl.

Among the species illustrated are the White-tailed Eagle, Grey Parrot, Whooper Swan, Andean Condor, Peregrine Falcon, and King Vulture. The illustrations are often annotated with descriptive details about the colours and features of the birds. Some also include pencil sketches and test patches of color.

Some of the illustrations include unidentified species, including a raptor with prey, an owl, and various parrots. Several of the illustrations are signed and dated by the artist, with the majority titled in pencil at the bottom of each sheet.

The collection consists of four early Irish manuscripts assembled by the Montreal collector Edward Murphy as part of his private library. The manuscripts include a copy of The Midnight Court (Cúirt an mheán oíche) by Brian Merriman, the Life of St. Patrick by John Chambers, Tri Biorghaoithe an Bhais (Three shafts of death) by Geoffrey Keating, and a fragment of an Irish vocabulary (Nuadhfoclóir bogcruaideach).

The fonds consists of a typed manuscript and a xerox sheet containing information collected by R.C. Amaron about Edwin Hatch, prepared for Dr. R. Williamson of England.

The collection consists of ephemera, artifacts, and publications related chiefly to the Expo 67 World Fair in Montreal and some documents relating to its continuation, Man and His World (Terre des Hommes), an exhibition that was the successor to Expo 67. Many of the records and artifacts were produced by participant countries and sponsors or by the Canadian Corporation for the 1967 World Exhibition. Ephemera includes postcards, visitor passports, and ticket stubs, while other textual documents include guidebooks, magazines, catalogues, books, clippings, information manuals, and some unpublished planning documents. Artifacts include license plates, vinyl records, letter opener, bottle caps, shopping bags, and pins. The collection features pamphlets and brochures for numerous pavilions, events, services, and countries featured, as well as many maps for the Expo 67 grounds and documents related to subsequent seasons of Man and His World.

The collection consists of an illustrated and annotated edition of a monograph titled "The English Cathedral of Quebec, read before the Literary and Historical Society, Quebec, 10th March, 1891," an ordinary copy of the monograph, various documents, black and white photographs of both the cathedral's exterior and interior, as well as portraits of its bishops and canons. The collection also features newspaper clippings related to the history of the cathedral and church discussions, published by the Literary and Historical Society of Quebec and various local newspapers, along with handwritten memos concerning church disputes. It includes an original watercolour drawing of the diocese's coat of arms, ordered by the first Lord Bishop, Dr. Jacob Mountain.

The F.R. Scott Collection contains documents pertaining to many differents aspects of F.R. Scott's life and career. His early political involvement in CCF (Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, the political party at the origin of the creation of the federal New Democratic Party [NDP]) constitutes one series; his interest in poetry another one. Also some important legal actions are documented here about language and education rights in Quebec schools. The last series contains more personal items probably gathered for an official commemorative service: tributes, press clippings. Includes F.R. Scott's passport for Montreal's Expo 1967.

The collection consists of 92 black and white photographs, mounted on black paper, depicting the construction of the dry dock in Lauzon, Quebec, from 1917 to 1923. It also includes a diary written by Ford Cushing Smith in 1922, which details activities related to the dry dock at Lauzon, and an accompanying typewritten letter from I. D. Macorquodale, Eng., explaining the donation in detail.

Collection consists chiefly of manuscripts produced by Frederick T. Bason, including a handwritten version of the author's manuscript "Summer" (19 leaves, written in 1962) and a two-part typescript of "The Last Bassoon," complete with the editor's corrections (part 1, pages 1-132 and part 2, pages 133-291). File 2 also includes a 24-page booklet of "Fred Bason goes fishing," published in 1959. File 1 also contains the following items: 1. A typewritten note from Fred Bason addressed to the owner of the original manuscript of 'The Last Bassoon,' dated January 1962. 2. A typewritten one-page list titled "Fred Bason has for sale the following splendid books." 3. A two-page handwritten letter dated January 1961, addressed to M. James, written on Fred Bason's author letterhead. In this letter, Bason expresses his gratitude for a cheque for a purchased manuscript, discusses his lectures in England, and mentions potential lectures in Quebec, specifically at McGill University.

Contains manuscript compilation relating to French Huguenots: "Recueil des actes de tous les Sinodes Nationnaux... au Royaume de France, 1559-1660." Includes an additional leaf dated 1711 at the end signed Etienne Merichaux.

Collection consists of minutes of a meeting of the Committee of Ladies for the Relief of French Immigrants, Ladies and Female Children, 7 June 1796, as well as papers concerning relief of French clergy and laity.
