Kelen Family Fonds

The fonds consists of books, letters, documents, drafts, publications, photographs, and several artifacts collected by W. W. Francis and Marian Francis Kelen over the course of their lifetimes. Many books and documents relate to Sir William Osler and the Osler family including several personal letters, the Deed of Trust documents regarding the Bibliotheca Osleriana, drafts of Osler's works, and a wooden travelling trunk that belonged to Edward Revere Osler. The fonds also includes original poetry written by Marian Osborne, W. W. Francis, and Marian Francis Kelen.

Osler is laid up with a cold but asked him to thank her for the Bibliography in the July number of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Bulletin. Osler would like to have separate reprints of the Bibliography so that he can add the few omissions. Mentions that Osler has had a bad cold and got up out of bed to go to London for the Presentation which went off very well.

She sends on envelope of letters pulled from the Osler files, which have been marked with red stickers [refers to the contents of Folder 52]. She has also sent a copy of the "Imaginary Library" to both Cushing and Malloch. She suggests that Cushing compile notes about the materials in the Osler Library to stimulate further interest in the Library.
