Place des Nations

Exterior view photograph. Place des Nations flags. Place des Nations (lot B-300) was conceived as a multipurpose gathering space. With a capacity of 7000 spectators, it was utilized for both official ceremonies and entertainment events. The timber walkways linked two reception halls. It's periphery was also lined by two restaurants and VIP spaces. Rectangular plaza. Reinforced concrete and fir glued laminated wooden beams. (S: 360' x 450' --- A: 67300 sq. ft. --- H: 39' 2")

Polymer Pavilion

Exterior view photograph. Polymer Pavilion exterior (lot B-331). Man the Explorer Pavilion in the background. The Polymer Pavilion cleverly acted as a bridge over a natural landscape depression. It consisted of a paritally caged-in exhibition area above and office/workshop areas below. Ramping curvatious design. Gas concrete on reinforcing steel. Rose Garden

Exterior view photograph. Aerial vantage of Rose Garden (lot B-362) with USA Pavilion in the background. Situated at the west end of Parc Hélène de Champlain, the Expo Rose Garden boasts 10,000 plants featuring hundreds of rose varieties. Nurseries from 15 countries donated species. Also displayed are paintings of thirteen varieties in the garden and a large sun dial with the Expo symbol on its face. Rectangular plan. (5 acres)
