        History

        Albert Douglas Kyle was born on November 30, 1873, in Leeds and Grenville, Ontario.

        He was a dry goods merchant who came to Montreal in 1883 from Brockville. He entered the textile business in 1903. In 1913, he operated the firm of James Kyle and Son. He was also the president of the Montreal Victorias Hockey Club.

        In 1904, he married Alison Jean (Elsie) Hyde. He died on May 29, 1956, in Montreal, Quebec.
